Is this the next Urtak Million?

by Marc

One week ago, a new Urtak burst on to the scene, eltiempo.com’s Preguntas a un clic.

With 150,000 responses in its first week, this is one of the fastest growing Urtaks ever, all while hidden in the depths of the site’s homepage (below the fold x5!). What is more, it will gather even more responses when some of the dozens of pending questions that have been asked are approved.

At this rapid pace of growth, Preguntas a un clic will be the next Urtak to receive one million responses.

Already we’ve learned some fantastic insights from the contribution of over 12,000 participants.

Here is the single most significant question:

¿Usted considera correcta la decisión de la Procuraduría al destituir a la Senadora Piedad Córdoba por 18 años, para ocupar cargos públicos?

Do you think the decision taken by the Inspector General’s office to ban Senator Piedad Córdoba from holding public office for 18 years is correct?

As always, this question is guaranteed to create interesting x-tabs.

Collaborative public opinion research has made a strong beginning in Colombia, thanks to the pioneering effort by La Silla Vacia, and now by El Tiempo’s adoption of Urtak technology.

Nowhere in the world have traditional pollsters shamed themselves more than in Colombia.

Will Colombia be the first country where the collaborative approach displaces antiquated models?
